Zimbabwe is one of the most visited countries of the African continent. This is primarily because of the scenic beauty of the country and its pleasant weather round the year. Zimbabwe’s serenity and greenery attract millions of tourists to the country all year round which helps them take a rest from the chores of hectic life. The capital city of Zimbabwe is Harare and this is where the country’s major international airport is situated. Harare International Airport receives flights from all over the world, especially from Europe, very frequently. Thus finding flights to Harare is not an issue.
Zimbabwe has been bestowed with much of natural splendors so as to be able to attract tourists towards it. One of the daily life meals of Zimbabweans is the traditional porridge. It is made by grinding the flour and then cooking it until it thickens. This porridge is served with green vegetables or meat, as per taste and requirement. Green vegetables form a major part of Zimbabwean diet and hence are grown widely in kitchen gardens all over the country. These vegetables are grown in a large variety and collected in wild. Wild vegetables are considered to provide valuable nutrients that cultivated vegetables cannot provide.
Vegetables in Zimbabwe are cooked primarily with two types of sauces. Either the onion and tomato sauce is used or the groundnut (peanut) sauce is used. This preparation of vegetables makes one of the most popular dishes of the country. As opposed by the rural areas, bread comprises the staple diet in urban centers and hence, it is widely consumed. Eggs are traditionally avoided as they are believed to cause infertility in women and animals representing any kind of symbols or inhuman nature also avoided. It can be clearly said that animals representing totems are largely avoided in Zimbabwe but eggs have now started to be used, primarily in urban areas.
On special occasions, Zimbabwean cuisines are worth tasting. Roasted or stewed meat is traditionally eaten on large occasions while people in rural areas slaughter an ox, cow or a goat. The selection of the animal to be slaughtered depends on the importance of the event. A traditional Zimbabwean beer, prepared from millet entirely by women, is a specialty. This is often served on many occasions accompanied by roasted groundnuts. Seasonally, milk, boiled or roasted groundnuts, boiled or roasted maize, fruits, termites, and caterpillars are also consumed in Zimbabwe. Eating out is very uncommon amongst the black population while the white population often eats out. Without a doubt, cheap flights to Zimbabwe offer their passengers an incomparably exotic trip.
